CY 2012 Annual Assessment - Day 2 (Travel to Camiguin)

On the day two of our journey to Camiguin Island, we woke up at 2 AM to prepare for our travel to Camiguin.  Everybody were so excited.  We still have to travel for 1.5 hours from CDO to the Ferry Port of Balingoan, Misamis Oriental.  It is the main port for travellers going to the provincial island of Camiguin. From Cagayan de Oro to Balingoan is around 86 kilometers.  There are actually three ports of entry in Camiguin, namely: Benoni, Guinsiliban and Balbagon.  From Balingoan, Benoni is a much preferred choice since it is nearer to Mambajao, the main town of Camiguin.  Mambajao is approximately 25 kilometers, north of Benoni Port.  The ferry crossing is approximately 1 hour.  However, depending on the condition of Bohol Sea where the Camiguin Island is located, the ferry might take longer to cross the channel.  Here are some pix taken during the travel ...

This is the Bohol Sea, also called the Mindanao Sea. It is located between Visayas and Mindanao. It lies south of Bohol and Leyte and north of Mindanao. Siquijor and Camiguin are its two major islands.

The major cities on Bohol Sea are Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City, Butuan City, Dumaguete City, Ozamis City, and Tagbilaran City.

CY 2012 Annual Assessment - Day 1 (Travel to CDO)

Annually, DBM ROXII conducts its Assessment outside our Official Station.  This year we went to Camiguin Island for the said activity giving us a chance to bond and unwind.  Since Camiguin is 297.8 km away from Koronadal City or an eight hours and 24 minutes drive, the group decided to sleep over at Cagayan de Oro City.  Hence our Day One was purely spent travelling from Koronadal City to Cagayan de Oro City traversing along Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato and Bukidnon Provinces.  Take a look of the following pix ...

We stopped at the Municipality of Carmen, Cotabato and have a quick tour of their Municipal Hall ...
